The Pulse was covering the Grand Opening of Theatre Box in San Diego. No one starts a party like GRAMMY® award-winning artist and international superstar, Armando Christian Perez, also known as Pitbull, and last night’s grand opening of Theatre Box®, the new 73,000-square-foot entertainment complex by the creators of TCL Chinese Theatre and Sugar Factory in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter, was no exception. The first phase unveiled San Diego’s first Sugar Factory American Brasserie and Sugar Factory confections, retail, gelato bar and café; TCL Chinese Theatre’s first luxury dine-in cinema; and the Chocolate Lounge. Pitbull announced that his cocktail bar, iLov305, will open on the rooftop of Theatre Box in the second phase, along with Nick Cannon’s Wild ‘N Out Sports Bar and Arcade.

Pitbull was honored in Theatre Box’s inaugural “Hand and Footprint Ceremony” in the longstanding tradition of TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, Calif. He then announced plans to become an even bigger part of Theatre Box when he revealed an iLov305 ice sculpture with a luge to enjoy chilled samples of his popular spirit, Voli Vodka, to reveal to media and fans that he would be bringing his popular Miami concept to San Diego.

Pitbull joined representatives from Theatre Box® and the City of San Diego in a ribbon cutting in front of hundreds of fans who had gathered along G Street at the corner of 5th Avenue. The ceremony was followed by a star-studded red carpet arrival with Pitbull, Cannon and NBA legend and television commentator, Bill Walton.

Pitbull then surprised fans inside Sugar Factory American Brasserie when he stepped behind the bar to make his own signature cocktail, ‘The Watermelon Patch,’ made with Voli Vodka, fresh watermelon, fresh lemon and citrus soda, topped with gummy sour watermelon slices.

Cannon joined Pitbull to toast the grand opening in one of Theatre Box’s eight luxury dine-in cinemas over cocktails made with Voli Vodka: ‘The Watermelon Patch’ and ‘Fuzzy Peach Penguin Mango.’ The pair then escorted guests to the rooftop and future home of iLov305, the rooftop of Theatre Box.

Later, Cannon was presented with a Wild ‘N Out cake in the Chocolate Lounge, where he performed a DJ set for hundreds of fans.
