From the SDPD’s Watch Commander:

P-1, a 23 year old BM was involved in a minor collision at 5400 University Avenue. He was driving a Gold Toyota Camry. He failed to stop and identify himself to the other party. The other party in that collision followed him, E/B University, in an attempt to identify him. At 6000 University Avenue, P-1 moved into the right turn lane for S/B College Avenue. P-1 then failed to stop at a red traffic signal and proceeded straight into the intersection. P-2 was a 37 year old WF in a Silver Lexus SUV. P-2 was N/B College Avenue and was
struck broadside by P-1. P-1 spun and then collided with P-3. P-3 was a 23 year old BM in a Red Ford Focus with four passengers. P-2 sustained a major head injury. The passenger of V-1 sustained a major injury to the jaw and pelvis. Four other people who were passengers in the various involved vehicles sustained minor
injuries. A total of five people were transported to area hospitals for treatment. Drugs or alcohol are not considered factors in the collisions. Traffic division officers and detectives responded to the scene and are conducting the investigation.
