The car was being pursued by SDPD one hour before the crash in the Otay area. The PD terminated the chase when the suspects blacked out thier car. The car with two passengers went off of the roadway and down an embankment. The female was unconcious and rushed to UCSD Hospital. She is in critical condition with head trauma. The male also has major head trauma and was combative with the Firefighters. he had to be handcuffed and a spit sock was put on his head. He was also transported to UCSD.:

A 24 year old male was driving a silver 2013 Chevy Malibu westbound along 2000 Main Street at a high rate of speed. The road curves sharply to the right and he could not negotiate the turn. The male lost control of the vehicle and slid off the roadway, into a drainage ditch. An unidentified female front passenger sustained a displaced pelvis, brain bleed, and brain swelling. The female is in critical condition. The male driver was intubated and his injuries are unknown at this time. Traffic Division responded to the scene and will be handling the investigation.
