[dt.]
The Torrey Pines and Black’s Beach are right outside the gates of the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). The steep sloping cliffs are a perfect area for paragliding and hang gliders. The steady updraft allows gliding in the air above the beach for hours. Sometimes the sky is so heavily frequented that a casual observer might fear collisions.
In addition, the beach is famous for its huge waves, making it a well-known surfing area. Of course one can also go for a swim. Nudism is officially forbidden, however, it is tolerated by the authorities.
